Early Attempts

After my initial exposure to photography, I was hooked and had found a new hobby
I invested the first self-earned money from hourly after-school-work in a supermarket into my first own camera, a Revueflex ACX (built by Chinon).

For the first years, apart from people and family events, my favorite topics included landscapes, animals, trees and flowers. What is important to remember: in the analogue age of photography, one had to think carefully before pushing down the shutter button. Each attempt immediately triggered real costs (for the film itself, for its development, and then for either ordering prints or framing slides).

This is very different from today’s digital times where it doesn’t really matter how many different shots you take …​
